And because it is surer of the new world than of anything else, it sees the old world only in the light of the new world.” Met hierdie woorde begin Dietrich Bonhoeffer sy boek Creation and Fall, wat in 1932–1933 – te midde van Adolf Hitler se magsoorname – as lesings in Berlyn gelewer is. In hierdie paneelgesprek dink ons saam na oor wat hierdie woorde vandag in en vir die kerk kan beteken. Wat is en hoe lyk ’n toekomsverbeelding wat, geanker in God se openbaring en handeling in die verlede, ter wille van die huidige oomblik, uit die beloftes van môre funksioneer?
